Sobha Icon is a full eight year long comprehensive educational programme for students spanning from grades 8th to UG. All the services, resources, and facilities are available to students fully free of cost without conditions.  This makes the programme realistic.

Icon’s focus is on empowerment of society via education, particularly of women at the lower strata with the aim of empowering them to make a permanent break from the vicious circle of poverty and deprivation. This is the core of any social transformation strategy.

Identification of beneficiary (poor) family has been done through an extensive social empowerment mapping exercise. All benefits are exclusively given to students from SEBC families living in the notified gram panchayats. There is no spreading thin.

Teaching and learning have been fine-tuned to meet the abilities and aspirations of the target groups with built-in tools for improving basic skills, in addition to mastering core subjects. The teaching and learning process being practiced in Icon makes it a unique academic programme.  

Ninety percent of beneficiary students belong to OBC, SC families while seventy-five percent are girls only. To achieve social change, it should start with the educational empowerment of this segment and hence this prioritization. 

Quality resources, facilities, and services to free of cost to poor the beneficiary family- food, personal and academic accessories, even fee is paid by Sobha. The intensity of the interest matters a lot in rural social work. Icon’s intervention in the life of the people has been complete as a social catalyst.

 Icon works at least 270 actual working days of 8 hours duration every year while another school hardly reaches 200. This is a record.

Karate and yoga training is provided to facilitate the physical and mental evolution of students.  Trips and tours to places of learning and leisure and industry expose them to real  world outside. 

A compulsory 90-minute daily school assembly trains everyone to improve various key skills required for future success in professional private and community social /community skills. Adventures trips to places in and around Moolamkode are always a part of Icon activities. 

 Like school-student connect, we have a systematic school-home/ teacher-parent connect which has worked wonders in the evolution of Icon students.  Teachers visit every home as a policy and maintain regular contact with families. 

All parents meet teachers at least once a month, individually or as a group, to exchange their experience and address grievances if any. In addition to teacher speaks, outside resources persons are also brought in for greater clarity on issues of concern to students as well as parents.
